What are Webkinz Mazin Hamsters? Mazin Hamsters are similar to regular Webkinz pets in that they are virtual pets that can be adopted, played with, and cared for at Webkinz.com.  Once you have adopted your pet Mazin Hamster, you build a virtual custom maze for it to live in by combining tubes and rooms. Whereas each regular Webkinz comes with a Special Pet Item and a Special Pet Food, each hamster comes with a special ball design, a unique tube design, and a set of "starter" tubes that allow players to begin building a maze.  Additional maze parts must be "built" before they can be used.  Collecting multiple Mazin Hamsters gives players more design options for their mazes, makes their mazes faster, and allows them to save more maze designs.  Each Mazin Hamster has a name, but when you adopt it at webkinz.com, you have the option of changing its name. 

As of March 2011, purchase of a regular Webkinz is still required to open an account at Webkinz.com, so you must own a regular Webkinz in order to play with a Mazin' Hamster in Webkinz World.  Furthermore, each time a regular Webkinz is adopted, the expiration date of your Webkinz account is extended to one year from the date of adoption.  Adopting a Mazin Hamster does not renew your Webkinz account.
